I'm in town for a week, staying in the north end of town (Briargate and
Rockrimmon area).

Are there any easily accessible mountain biking trails around? I define
"easily accessible" as "you can ride your bike to the trailhead without
having to defy death from riding on busy roads with non-existent
shoulders and bike lanes".

Any tips are appreciated.

Thanks.

Short answer. No. You are in the land of No MTB'ng. i.e. Briargate

Try the Air Force Academy. There are some trails you can ride there.

Or, You can hit the Santa Fe Trail though(North/South Trail through
AFA)
and take it to some other trails.

There's some good riding at the Forest Service Center up near Monument,
or else everything else is pretty much South of town at Cheyenne
Canyon.
